MARCH 16, 2011

First Publication of KneeAlign Clinical Results in Journal of Arthroplasty

Aliso Viejo, CA - March 16, 2011 - OrthAlign, Inc., a privately held commercial stage medical device company, today announced the publication of encouraging clinical results with its KneeAlign® palm-sized, surgical navigation system for tibial alignment in the Journal of Arthroplasty by David J. Mayman, MD et al (Click here to view abstract).

Dr. Mayman, who practices at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York and is the primary investigator in one of the ongoing post-market clinical trials with KneeAlign®, commented: "This publication summarizes interim data of our ongoing study. A total of 42 knees underwent a total knee arthroplasty using KneeAlign. Postoperative standing anteroposterior hip-to-ankle and lateral knee-to-ankle radiographs demonstrated that 97.6% of the tibial components were placed within 90° ± 2° to the mechanical axis in the coronal plane, and 96.2% of the components were placed within 3° ± 2° to the mechanical axis in the sagittal plane. The KneeAlign greatly improves the accuracy of tibial component alignment in TKA."

About the KneeAlign® System: Since its market introduction in late 2010, the KneeAlign® system has been used in approximately 1,000 total knee replacement procedures. KneeAlign® has been widely endorsed by surgeons for its unique combination of precision and ease of use. (Click here to watch a surgical video). Multiple clinical studies are currently underway at leading US institutions to further demonstrate KneeAlign's precision, reliability and intra-operative ease-of-use.
